School History
The Oklahoma School of Photography was founded in 1972 by Jerry Cockrell. Since then Mr. Cockrell and his professional, creative staff have been training individuals for work in the field of Photography.
The staff of OSOP continually review the curriculum at the school to ensure that it stays up to date with current trends and industry standards.
In 1997 the school diversified it's training even more by opening the Digital Imaging program. This program trains individuals in the many arts of imaging including: advertising layout and design, desktop publishing, graphic design, computerized fine art, image manipulation, photographic restoration, and much more.
OSOP is proud of our graduates and their great accomplishments in the fields of photography and digital imaging. From fine art photography to studio portraiture, from processing labs to photojournalism, from desktop publishing to digital art these highly trained men and women have taken their places in the respected world of professional photography and digital imaging.
You are invited to join them. The Oklahoma School of Photography offers tours of the facility with an appointment.
The OSOP is nationally accredited and offers financial aid for those who qualify.
